The blessedness that KUMC has brought to its neighbors this year has surely been something that puts a smile on God’s face.
If you've been part of the work of this church in any way this last year, thank you! You have been part of the growing culture of KUMC - one that deeply cares for its neighbors and dreams about all the good we'll do in the years to come. We praise God for your heart to love and connect with others and work to help them experience God for themselves. Thank you!❋ Summer TableA ministry of love that fed 35 children in 12 families while school was out for the summer, and also made meaningful connections with those families.
❋ Teacher SupportA care program for those who care deeply which fed over 100 teachers/staff 3 separate meals, served over 200 cups of coffee, and prayed with 5 teachers in need.
❋ KUMC YouthOur own wonderful youth who went to Pilgrimage, WinterJam (a massive youth worship experience), helped pack over 10,000 meals at a Rise Against Hunger event, and met often to grow as disciples of Christ.
❋ Baby PantryA partnership with Zebulon UMC and a $10,000 grant from the Foundation for Evangelism that now gifts 11 little babies with monthly care items.
❋ BES Support Our mission field where we read books to 125 students, ate lunch with 300 students, welcomed over 700 students with cheers and a gift from KUMC.
❋ WakeMed OutreachA ministry of care that packed 75 bags for families waiting in the NICU of WakeMed Hospital.
❋ Sunday WorshipA core of what we do where we welcomed dozens of visitors, 6 new members, ate popsicles at Pentecost, worshipped with several guest musicians and preachers, and are making space for all people.
❋ Financial AidAn ongoing care for our neighbors in need that supported people with around $5,000 in assistance for utilities, housing, medical care, and more.
❋ Showing UpWithout a building, the church realizes it has no bounds. We showed up at fall markets, Kick-or-Treat, farmers markets, Back-to-School bashes, and more.
Truly, this could not happen without your amazing generosity. This is what it means to LOVE LOUDER and CONNECT DEEPER. We're praying for your continued trust in this church, and hope for what God will do through this community of faith next year!
Speaking of next year...Here are a few things we’re praying over in 2027:
These are some of the areas we’re going to pay particular attention to in 2027. That means aligning our budget to support these ministries. Would you prayerfully consider ways you might support these efforts, both in giving and volunteering?
Expanding our Missions — The story behind selling our old building was to impact our community and make a difference, and we’re keeping that as the primary focus in growing and developing as a body of Jesus followers.
Nurturing God’s Children — One of the ways we build God’s kingdom is inspiring the next generation. In 2027, children and youth ministries will become a focus for us. We want to see children and youth involved in worship and serving in the community, growing as disciples and sharing their stories of faith.
Locating to Knightdale — We’re already a church making a difference in the community, and we know expanding that impact means moving closer in and putting whatever building we inhabit to work. There’s a new team established to start looking!
Growing in Worship — We know there’s more room at the table on Sunday mornings, and we want to live out Jesus’ parable of the wedding banquet and invite everyone we meet. At the same time, we want to create amazing experiences for praising God.
Reaching New People — We’re a New Faith Community in The UMC, which provides incredible support in funding for the next 4 years. As a partner church of NFC, we share the goal of making new places for new people.
How can you help? I'm glad you asked!
