KUMC’s vision is to serve as a heartbeat in the community so all feel connected and worthy of love.

Church in Knightdale

Let’s dig into that a little more.

When we say community…

Our community is Knightdale, NC and the surrounding areas. It’s also any place our people interact with neighbors who live next door and across town. We’re investing in our community because where it prospers, so will we (Jeremiah 29:7).

When we say heartbeat…

Our work is to be salt and light to the community (Matthew 5:13-16), not salty and lite. Our presence should be life giving, and integral to the community we reside in. We want to be helpful when we’re present, and missed when we’re not.

When we say feel connected…

Connection is at the root of our sacraments - Baptism and Communion. In Baptism we offer our whole selves to God in a deepening relationship. In Communion God offers God’s whole self to us. Connection is a value for us, and a hope for every person we meet.

When we say worthy of love…

Every person is named Beloved by God, who made them ‘in’ and ‘for’ love. We pray every person learns that for themselves, and we hope to do everything we can to make that easier to know. Despite every notion that says otherwise, nothing can separate you from the love of God (Romans 8:39).

Church in Knightdale

Our Mantra helps us stay focused.

Love Louder.

Connect Deeper.

Here’s a few of the ways we’re living this out.

Giving back to our host site.

Beaverdam Elementary School may be a temporary location for us, but while we’re here (and after we move) we’re going to love them well. We support the teachers and children throughout the year with moments of encouragement, generously donating needed items, serving families around holidays, and even showing up on day one to cheer the kids on!

Supporting children and families.

Just as Jesus loved children, we do too. Throughout the year we partner with Zebulon UMC to provide a Baby Pantry that supports caregivers of infants with needed items each month. During the summer we partner with two community neighborhoods to provide snacks and meals to families with school aged kids while school is out.

Growing our financial support.

We have a goal to grow our budget so that 30% of what comes in goes directly to community support and development. That’s support for the ministries we host, and providing generous donations to local organizations doing good work in our community. Every donation makes an impact on that goal.
