So Much To Do!

Can we just take a second to consider what a privilege it is to worship in a space that doubles as a mission field?

Each Sunday we gather for worship at Beaverdam Elementary School, and most Sundays we leave with a blessing for that space. Because on Monday morning, a brand new group of people walks through those same doors. Students full of excitement and nerves. Teachers preparing lessons and welcoming new faces. Parents hoping their kids have a great year.

Over the past year we've had the opportunity to love this school community in so many ways—from reading with students and serving at the book fair to providing teacher appreciation gifts and supporting families through our ministries. And in just a few short weeks, we get to do it all again.

And we need YOU to help!

We’ve got a few opportunities to love and connect with our community. Would you read through these and consider supporting one or more of them?

First, on August 15th at 1pm we’re heading to Knightdale Station to give out school supplies to hundreds of school kids! Here’s what you can do:

1. Volunteer to be at our table.

2. Make a donation to help cover the cost of school supplies.

Second, during the week of August 17th we’re going to welcome the teachers back with breakfast, coffee, and maybe a welcome back gift! Here’s what you can do:

1. Volunteer to help serve breakfast.

2. Make a donation to cover the cost.

Third, on August 24th at 7:30am we’re going to show up to welcome the kids to their first day of school! Here’s what you can do:

1. Volunteer to show up, hold a sign, and cheer for the kids!

This is one of the beautiful things about being Knightdale UMC. We don't just gather for worship—we're sent from worship. Every Sunday we leave carrying the love of Christ into the very hallways where our neighbors will spend the week.
